        Wheels
        Worn out your
wheels yet? This is normal once you get up to speeds especially with the
        rear wheel.
        The
rubber on this wheel takes the hit when the brakes are jammed on or from
        skids.
        Replacement
wheels are easy to find from most sports shops. keep and eye out for the
size of the wheel and bearings to make sure they fit.
        Mast
Broken your mast? Don't laugh it happens.
        I have
repaired a broken mast that sheared off at the top of the steering
bearing using some steel water pipe.
        Go to
you local steel shop and select a diameter pipe to insert tight into the
deck bearing and upwards into the handle.
        Take
this home and cut to size. Hammer into place and secure with the mast
        clamps.
        The
pipe should be a tight fit into both sections.
        This
repair has the downside of being unable to slide down the mast during
fold up. But who needs to pack it away anyway.
        The
        additional weight is hardly noticeable.

         Bearings
        Wheel bearings are easy to
change and with the right ones you can have a smoother and faster ride.
        Bearings are rated on a
smoothness measurement called ABEC. The smoother the bearing the better
        it will work.
        The best bearings are
ABEC 7 the worst are ABEC 1.
        You can but the
bearings from skateboard shops, these should include the spacers that
        keep the bearings apart.
        Check the size against
        the ones you already have.
        Use an Allen key
to remove the old bearings or take them into a skateboard shop to fit.
